Teardrop Shaped Turquoise Stud Earrings

Here’s something interesting about turquoise: initially, this substance was known by a lot of different names, but the word turquoise was derived around 16th century from French, either from the word for Turkish (Turquois) or dark-blue stone (which is pierre turquin in french). Although turquoise doesn’t occur in Turkey, it was heavily traded at turkish bazaars to the venetian merchants, which then brought it to Europe, so this might have been a bit of a misconception :) Just a funny thing which I thought you might like to know.

Moving on to today’s item, this pair of teardrop turquoise earrings  come from Kit Heath’s Vintage collection, and they include a presentation box as do all of our Kit Heath products. The stones are natural and have a blue-ish colour.

They come mounted on a sterling silver setting. If you want to give these as a gift, you can order the gift wrap for only £2 from the product page.
