Do you have an aunt that simply loves cats? Or maybe a dear friend that has one of these lovely animals in her lap all the time? Do you, yourself, love these superb creatures and would like to have something to remind you of your real pet while you’re away from home?

Then what better way to show your appreciation for these beloved animals then this really sweet cat brooch made out of marcasite on a silver setting?

It shows two cats from behind, which appear to be lovers (by the way they are “holding tails” too I like to think that the black one is the guy, and the silver kitty with the marcasite necklace is the female.

But I digress – they’re just nice and cuddly and they would make the perfect gift for any cat lover out there.

And, as always, just in case, I want to point you to our marcasite jewellery page, where you will find a wide variety of brooches and what not.

Brooches seem to be pretty popular amongst our customers as of late. It looks like, out of all our Marcasite Jewellery Products, brooches are appreciated most. Which is why I’m presenting you one of the latest addition to our online inventory, the Dragonfly Marcasite and Mother of Pearl Brooch.

I for one have seen my fair share of dragonfly brooches, and let me say that most of the ones I’ve seen are just not good enough. They’re big and loud and really don’t cut it. This one piece of jewellery however, has such a great manufacture you expect the dragonfly to just come to life and fly away at any moment

So, if there is a really special, refined lady in your life, this might just make the perfect gift for her!

What do you think of the image to the left? The two cats cuddling – one with mainly marcasite and a silver collar, the other is silver with a marcasite collar. This would be a perfect gift for either a marcasite brooch lover or a cat lover.

Below we have a nice silver and marcasite dragonfly brooch – dragonfly jewellery has long been a favourite on Milton Gems and we have a range.

All in all, a nice couple of pieces - feel free to take a look.

The butterfly weighs in at approx 13 1/2 grams and the size is 37mm from head to bottom of wing and 53mm approx from left to right.

Shaped like a curved, dark feather the brooch is made of multiple cone shaped pieces of marcasite set in sterling silver. It is approx 82mm from point to point and about 36mm wide so it’s a fair size. It weighs in at 15 1/2 grams so all in all it’s a fairly substantial size and large enough to not be hidden if worn on a coat.

When moved, the dark grey marcasite stones catch the light and glisten impressively. All in all, a very nice piece and the picture, unfortunately, doesn’t do it justice. You can see more marcasite / vintage style jewellery in its category.

This marcasite brooch is, as you can see, shaped like a flower. Set in silver, the marcasite is complemented by grey shell in the leaves which gives it a completely different texture. One thing I did notice is that when I took it out into natural light, it had the effect of bringing on different colours – very effective.

The size is 45mm at its widest point i.e. from the top of one leaf to the bottom of another. The weight is 15.5grams (approx).
